A summers child is precious
so watch him as he grows
He is fresh and bright as the sunshine
and must be taught all that he knows
Whichever way he grows
is mainly in your hands
With your guidance you must mold him
and shape into a man
Like a cool breeze on a summers day
this child so young and bold
Can be a breath of fresh air
or someone harsh and cold
So teach him well this summers child
and help him be a man
That in the autumn of his life
proud and strong is how he'll stand
