I visit you often
almost every day
And always my son
these words I say

I love you Richard
and miss you so
My tears, my sadness
continue to grow

They say that time
heals a broken heart
And this loneliness inside
will some day depart

But they are not me
and they do not know
There's this hole in my heart
that continues to grow

Sometimes I ask
oh how could this be
Why take you so young
why couldn't it have been me

But the Lord has His reasons
and we are not ones to judge
He saw your beautiful soul
brought you home to His love

I visit your grave
even though you are not there
You are an eagle that files
and soars through the air

You are the wind in my face
that kisses my cheek
A flower that blossoms
from the cold ground that peeks

As I visit your grave and talk to you there
my words of love float up through the air
I turn to leave and look up to the sky
an eagle tips his wing, my kiss goodbye

My wonderful friend Judith, this page is dedicated in remembrance of Richard's birthday March 20. I hope in
some small way you can find some comfort here. Warm hugs to to you my friend, Island Princess

Judith inspired me to write this poem from her experience last December while visiting her son Richard. She said her words of love as she often does several times a week and was having a very difficult day with her grief. As she turned to leave Richard's gravesite an eagle soared overhead as they often do near the site and the places he loved to visit. This particular eagle circled around up overhead and then tipped his wing as if to send a kiss and to let Judith know that Richard is always nearby and loves his mother so...I like to think the tip of his wing was a Kiss From Richard. I am sure Richard is watching out for his family. His sister Lorraine feels his presence with her all the time. And a new addition has been added to the Hill's family. Richard's beautiful granddaughter Esponaza Lynn was born June 28th 2001. I am sure he is giving this little one kisses of love.

"Gone Too Soon"

Like A Comet
Blazing 'Cross The Evening Sky
Gone Too Soon

Like A Rainbow
Fading In The Twinkling Of An Eye
Gone Too Soon

Shiny And Sparkly
And Splendidly Bright
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like The Loss Of Sunlight
On A Cloudy Afternoon
Gone Too Soon

Like A Castle
Built Upon A Sandy Beach
Gone Too Soon

Like A Perfect Flower
That Is Just Beyond Your Reach
Gone Too Soon

Born To Amuse, To Inspire, To Delight
Here One Day
Gone One Night

Like A Sunset
Dying With The Rising Of The Moon
Gone Too Soon
