Random Acts of Kindness

Hello and welcome to my Random Acts of Kindness dedication page. I am the Island Princess and I am so glad you came by to visit. After your stay here please stop by RAOK and look around. We are a group, no a FAMILY of Internet friends who have made a commitment to spend at least 5 minutes a day bestowing random acts of kindness to others. Wether it be a guest book signature, an e-mail, or just offering a helping hand in some way. I have been a RAOK member for nearly a year now and I must say I have met the nicest group of people anyone could ever wish to meet.

It is a shame that most of the publicity of the "Internet", people wise, is of a negative nature. We are always hearing about spammers, hackers, and stalkers, but not much is publicized about the "good" people do on the Internet. I remember the first time I was given a random act of kindness. Someone signed my guest book and left a lovely little gift. And when I read it I thought, "wow this is such a great idea". I went to the link provided with the little gift to learn more about this group I knew nothing about. I did know however that this little act of kindness that someone had bestowed on me made my day. And after visiting the RAOK site and reading about how this group of friends only wanted to show kindness and spread a little joy and happiness all over the Internett I KNEW this was for me. It takes only a few minutes to visit someones guest book and say "Have A Nice Day". And I knew that this would not only make someone smile but it would make me feel good also.

I believe you cannot bestow happiness on someone else without some of it coming back to you. I believe love and friendship are like butterflies. If we keep them to ourselves they will die and cease to be. But if we let them go and share the beauty with others then soon we will be blessed with the same in return. And I can honestly say that the most rewarding 5 minutes I have spent on the Internet was when I applied for membership to this fantastic group.

So please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to give RAOK a look over. I am sure when you do you too will say, "wow this is such a great idea." Thank you for letting me share a few minutes with you and hopefully I will see you around the town of Random Acts of Kindness.

Just A Random Act

I did a random act today while surfing on the net
I gave a smile and a warm hello to everyone I met

I stayed an extra minute or so to sign my name and then
I had so much fun showing kindness that I had to do it again.

I then signed peoples guestbooks from all over the world
Gave a warm RAOK blessing to every man, woman, boy and girl

And in my daily acts of kindness while traveling the world around
I have surely been so very blessed the friends that I have found

They come from every corner, here and there, far and near
Some are merely passing ships and some are very dear

With many I have cried a thousand tears, others a smile and a laugh
And everyone that I have visited has left a mark that will forever last

Just a Random Act of Kindness has surely blessed my life
This wonderful group, and the friends I've met...life is very nice :)
