On The Wings Of An Angel
On the wings of an angel from up above.
He came down to her when she couldn't fly
When she thought life was useless and wanted to die.
She listened to his story she listened to his tale
He gave her courage to go on and to try not to fail.
She felt the soft flutter of his wings upon her face
She knew she must go on and not give up on the race.
His face was so gentle his eyes they were kind
God surely blessed her for this angel to find.
He stayed by her always in the bad times and good
He never gave up on her by her side always stood.
And then came the day when she felt death was near
She laid down and called him with a sigh and a tear.
But he was not there for her he did not come
She called and she cried and then knew death he had won.
She just couldn't fathom why her angel he had gone
Had she done something so terrible so bad and so wrong?
The things that had happened to her in her life
All the hurt and the sorrow the pain and the strife.
How could they be her fault she was so young
Her song to this angel her life she had sung.
And now he has left her from her he has flown
This girl has just gave up and is now all alone.
So she has now laid down her life is now over
For death she now waits as she lays in the clover.
A darkness it covers her a loneliness she now feels
She awaits the final moments among the clover of the field.
A tear from her eye falls to the ground death is here without a
sound.
She has done all she can, hurt by this angel and hurt by a man.
The death it surrounds her so tight and so strong
Her breath it is now labored and soon will be gone.
And then in an instant the life she now feels
She struggles to awaken amongst the clover in the fields.
A glimmer a small hope she feels in her heart
She fights and she struggles to make a new start.
And then she breaks forth from this death that surrounds
She looks and sees her angel with his smile and his crown.
He said "I knew you could do it this is the real you
Praise God you have made it you are fresh and anew".
Yes she did make it and she turns to the sky
This child she has turned into a beautiful butterfly.
