It is now officially Mothers Day 1999. The time being 2:02 am only my little sister Aimee and I are awake. She is in the kitchen making her famous grilled cheese sandwiches and I am sitting here at the computer listening to mp3's and trying not to think about the hot cheesy fried treats she is making in the other room. I have been thinking about Mothers Day for some time now. Thinking of how lucky I am to have a Mother. I wish to take this little bit of time to thank my Mother for all she has done for me...sacrificed for me...and loved me. She tries her hardest to provide for us. To make sure we know she is always here for us and to try to guide us on the path to being good honest and prosperous adults. Sometimes I guess she tries a little too hard to make up for the loss of our father. She puts all of her needs and feelings aside to make sure we have all we need. I sometimes cry seeing how lonely and scared she is at times. She misses her husband still and it is times like the holidays the loneliness seems nearer to the heart. She also will be missing her youngest today. Baby Jennifer died at birth 10 years ago and sometimes she will talk of her to me...saying things like "I sure wished I had my baby here to keep me company and I wonder how Jenny would look today." I try to comfort her at times like this and only hope I can be as a blessing to her as she is to me. "Mom I love you with all my heart and I thank God for you every day of my life."
Another reason I am so blessed is I not only have one wonderful Mom in my life but I am blessed to have my other "MOM". She is a very wonderful lady to whom I have had the honor of knowing for two years now. I often turn to her when things are tough at home or when I just need another pair of loving arms to hug me. I often can talk to her and tell her things I cannot say to my Mother. "Mom you are always here for me and have always listen and cried with me and have been honest and I know you love me unconditionally. I also thank God for you my precious Mom from Kansas."
I am pretty blessed don't you think? Well that is not all.....
I am also blessed to have my Auntie LA. A wonderful lady who lives in Minnesota. She came into my life one night almost two years ago and has been a blessing to my family and especially my Mother when she needed a friend. We are always in her prayers as she is in ours. "Thanks Auntie LA, you are another reason I wish to thank God tonight."
To my three wonderful ladies, I wish you all a Happy Mothers Day. May God bless you all today and everyday. May the Lords shining grace light your paths and keep you all the days of your lives.
Reflecting on my three precious ladies..I have realized that I have been truly blessed. There is so much power in these few words..."God is good, God is great."
With all my love
