A Letter To Jenny

Mommy still has your pictures
that were taken on that day
She never lets us see them
she keeps them locked away

She said you were so beautiful
so precious and so small
You looked just like an angel
or a delicate baby doll

I remember how excited
we were to have you here
Then Daddy had to tell us
with a sigh and with a tear

"Jenny was just too precious
and she won't be coming home
She went back up to heaven
in the clouds is where she'll roam

The Lord he greatly missed her
so to him she had to go
And for all things there is a reason
although we'll miss her so"

I think that was the first time
our Daddy I did see cry
The day he had to tell us
our little sister you did die

I remember how very sad I felt
on that dark and cloudy day
For I had many plans for you little sister
with to run and jump and play

Many times I sit and wonder
how you would look today
Watching you my little sister
in your own and special way

I see how much Mommy misses you
and now Daddy he has gone
This is your turn to know him Jenny
to hold his hand and sing him a song

Please take care of our dear Daddy
and tell him I miss him so
I guess the Lord did need him
so we had to let him go

I know you met him at the gate
and took him by the hand
You showed him all around heaven
and introduced him to the Man

So to my little sister Jenny
to my angel in the sky
I send my love to you and Daddy
a love that will never die

And one day when my life is over
and I am called back home
We'll play there up in heaven
in the clouds is where we'll roam

If beauty was a flower,
and I saw a field of those,
They would all be dandelions,
and you would be a rose.
And people would come from miles around
your loveliness to see,
And they could pick the dandelions,
but the rose belongs to me!
