He ran with the pack
but now hunts alone
This noble canine
trying to get home
The majestic mountain
he calls his space
He must get back home
he must win this race
His mate she calls
from the mountain crest
He tires to answer her
he tries his best
He has been gone
much too long
But he remembers his mountain
and he hears her song
They have been waiting
steadfast and true
His mountain his mate
he must follow through
The days have been harsh
the nights have been long
But he remembers his mountain
and he hears her song
The closer he gets
to his mountain his mate
He knows he can make it
that this is his fate
As cold winds are blowing
his time is at hand
He must get home before winter
and the bare frozen land
As the frost settles in
and his breath fills the air
He keeps moving forward
to get back to his lair
The days growing shorter
the nights all alone
He now hears her howl
her crying her moan
He knows he has made it
as he runs to his mate
He is back to his mountain
his homeland his fate
So now this noble canine
who runs with the pack
No need to hunt alone
to his mountain is back
