ABBY'S ROAD

She never could have imagined
the ways in my life she'd touch
Now she's crossed Rainbow Bridge
and I miss my friend so much

Her road was long and winding
but she traveled it with pride
A devoted friend and loved one
always a comfort, by my side

I pray she knew what she meant to me
to have her in my life, I was blessed
She was always there to ease the pain
and for a friend, she was the best

With the utmost loyalty and devotion
Abby, she stayed here by my side
When I thought my world had ended
the day my son Richard, had died

She showed me that I was needed
that others were counting on me too
And she loved me just the way I was
not for what I did or didn't do

She was also there when Libbee died
our dear faithful friend, we lost
Even through her pain and grieving
comforting me without want or cost

Abby's road was sometimes difficult
when she was a pup she suffered much
Then she became part of our family
and she finally felt a loving touch

With tears in my eyes, I must say goodbye
but with Richard in Heaven she now roams
She has crossed that bridge with rainbows
and as her reward she is finally home

Nothing can ever replace her love
that is here and in my heart lives
Abby's road is now paved in gold
she was mine and now she is His
